We hear a lot about the three trimesters of pregnancy. But many women and health professionals know little about the critical time period in a woman's postpartum life that desperately needs more attention: the fourth trimester.
The "fourth trimester" is the 12 week period after childbirth. This is a time riddled with afterbirth pains, bleeding, vaginal tenderness and recovery from perineal tears, recovery from caesarean sections, navigating breastfeeding or bottle feeding, hormonal withdrawal and surges, and sleep deprivation.
Booking with Postpartum With Dulcie Lane as soon as possible will guarantee you a spot for your due month to have your placenta prepared, nourishing postpartum meals delivered or In Home Doula Support.
Don't delay this fantastic fourth trimester support!

Each woman’s needs are different after giving birth and placenta encapsulation provides different opportunities and benefits based on the physical needs of the individual mother’s body

WHAT IS
Placenta Encapsulation?
'Maternal human placentophagy' describes the practice of ingesting oneʼs own placenta post partum, which is done in different ways: either a piece of raw placenta is consumed immediately after parturition, or the tissue is heated, dried and then pulverized. Placenta encapsulation, whereby the placenta is processed into capsules, is a common practice in the Anglo-American world. It entails the filling of placental tissue as a dried powder into gelatin capsules for everyday consumption. For more FAQs on encapsulation, go HERE.
